Fall Undergraduate Recruitment
Meet USC:
Meet USC information sessions will be held in-person (ANN 203) on most Mondays and Fridays throughout the fall semester. There are a few exceptions and an officer will check in with interns each Monday and Friday to let interns know how many (if any) attendees we are expecting so that interns may set up ANN 203 properly. Interns that are tour-certified and work the Monday or Friday morning shift will be asked to conduct tours at 11:30 AM for the MUSC when ambassadors are not available to help. An officer will confirm this ahead of time with the intern. For questions about MUSC, please ask Maeve.
9/26 (Friday) Counselor Conference:
On Friday 9/26, high school and transfer/community college counselors will be coming to campus to learn about what USC Annenberg offers. Intern support may be needed for those on shift and a green sheet will be provided day of. Questions may be directed to Maeve.
10/19 (Sunday) Discover Open House:
Sunday 10/19 is USC’s prospective student open house and Annenberg will be offering programming for prospective 1st year and transfer students and their families. If a prospective UG student wants to visit campus, this would be a good event to refer them to sign up for or one of our Meet USC information sessions. Questions may be directed to Maeve.
Fall Graduate Information Sessions
RSVP for Graduate information sessions is live on the Annenberg (Connect & Visit) website. Although DSM information session is the only one currently displayed (as of 10 AM 9/5/25), prospective students may register for their program(s) of interest information session using this link; https://annenberg.usc.edu/admissions/virtual-graduate-information-sessions-registration.

Breaking News: Admissions Interns
Effective today, you have access with your student ID to open ANN classrooms, the Media Center, Digital Lounge, and ANN 106 for building tours only. You may also access ANN 203 to set-up for information sessions and events only. (Allyson 9/2/25)
Meet & Greet with Prospective First Year
Sometimes, you will be asked by me or other admission officers to meet with prospective first-year students and their families. The purpose is to share your USC and Annenberg experience and lead a tour of Wallis Annenberg Hall (ANN). These meetings/tours will occur during your shift. Tour training begins next week for new interns!

Undergraduate Admission Application Updates
For fall 2023, USC Admission added an Early Action (EA) option for first-year applicants. The application deadline was November 1, 2022. EA is non-binding, so admitted students have until May 1, 2023 to accept their offers of admission. Decision letters were released on January 20.
January 15, 2023 is the Regular Decision (RD) application deadline. Applicants not admitted through EA will be fully considered for admission in the RD pool. Decision notifications will be released in late March 2023.
The transfer application deadline is February 15, 2023.
The Annenberg writing sample is no longer required.
Progressive Degree Program (PDP)
Refer to the Progressive Degree page under Students on the Annenberg website.
No additional mandatory information sessions will be held spring semester 2023. Students planning to apply may attend virtual office hours with Allyson Hill in February. See the Annenberg Student Progressive Degree for dates/times and to join the Zoom meeting link.
Six critical points about PDP:
Must be a USC student.
Apply in the junior year and start to take graduate classes along with undergraduate courses in the senior year. Graduate with your bachelor’s degree and return to USC Annenberg to complete master’s degree.
The application deadline is March 1, 2023 for all Annenberg PDP degrees. Late applications will not be accepted and incomplete applications will not be reviewed by faculty admission committees. Find the application on
the USC Undergraduate Education website at https://undergrad.usc.edu/programs/progressive/requirements/Seniors graduating December 2022 and May 2023 must apply for graduate admission through the regular graduate application process. Refer to graduate applicants on the Annenberg Admissions page.
No online degree programs are offered as PDPs.
The Annenberg PDP coordinator is Allyson Hill, associate dean of Annenberg Admissions. Email her at ascjpdp@usc.edu

TOEFL Department Code
International applicants frequently inquire about a department code for their TOEFL registration or to send official TOEFL scores to USC. This department code, which was created by TOEFL for their internal use, is 83.
However, for TOEFL scores to be sent electronically to USC, the USC institutional code 4852 must be used. The TOEFL department code is has no relevance to how scores are processed by USC.
