Walk-ins
Annenberg Student Services front desk staff may call or come back to the intern desk when a walk-in for Admissions arrives
If they walk back or call, ask the front desk intern to find out which major/degree program is of interest and if the inquirer is a prospective first-year, transfer or graduate student.
Get the appropriate materials before going to the front counter
Undergraduate - travel brochure and viewbook
Graduate - travel brochure and viewbook (PhD - include the class profile)
Next alert the Officer of the Week that you will be away from the desk to meet with a walk-in
The admissions officer may decide to answer the phones or allow you to forward the phone to voicemail
Go to the front desk to greet the walk-in with the materials. If the inquirer has questions, take them to a table in the East Lobby for conversation.
If the inquirer has questions you cannot answer, ask the person to wait while you consult with the Officer of the Week. If the answer is too nuanced, invite the Officer of the Week to speak directly with the inquirer. Feel free to stay so you may learn how to answer.
